It's all about the looks

PING G400 irons had a sole that I was immediately struck by. I've seen plenty of GI/SGI irons so expected a wide sole. This was not the case. Particularly in the long irons, the sole of G400 is small and has been shaped to look even smaller. It is evident throughout the set that this team has paid attention to details and is very visually appealing.

Similar to address, the top-line was impressive. Though it isn’t perfect, it’s close to the thickness of my i. Blades. Similar to the Girons, it's invisible from the address.

PING G400 Irons can be identified as either SGI or GI by their offset. Even though there is more of it in the long clubs, this makes sense.

Review of the Ping G400 Irons

Do you remember the Ping Zing 2 Irons? The Ping Eye 2 irons are also a classic.

You may be able to recall that Ping invented some of the most innovative golf irons in history. Ping boasts a rich history of making golf clubs that appeal to all levels.

The introduction of the Ping G400 Irons continues the tradition. Ping describes the G400s to be game improvement irons. However, Ping believes that single-digit gamers may also find the G400s well-suited for advanced skills. It's quite a bold claim but our Ping G400 Review will try to prove it.

G400 Iron Set (5-Pw, Uw)

Ping G15's had been my go-to bag for many years. Although the G15s were still working well for me I decided it was high time I looked for something better to go in my bag. These G400's were the perfect addition to Ping's August 2017 release.

I'd read almost all the reviews and decided to go to my local Ping fitting to have a look. Finding the correct shafts, swing weights lofts, lies and grips took approximately 3 hours. As soon as those details were sorted out I put the cash down and put in my order..

The next three weeks passed and I was on the first Tee of my home course. This time, I had regained confidence. A dangerous combination. Before the golf season in Alberta ended Oct 19, 2017, I managed to get in 22 rounds with the new clubs. Playing with high-quality, custom-fitted golf clubs is an amazing experience.

With a handicap of 12, I am by no means a professional golfer but I really do like these new G400's. They have a much more relaxed feel and feel.

I am expecting to notice an improvement when I analyze all my stats after the 2018 golf season.

Yes.

It is my recommendation.

Wrong Again

It was thought that all clubs were alike. BUT, WRONG AGAIN. We tried all of them. My late father and I were total club junkies..including repairing and refinishing persimmon clubs etc…After selling off all of our vintage sets I had the opportunity to purchase a really nice set of clubs. After testing, Ping G400 emerged as the winner. It isn't that I am the most respected tester, just my experience. Like me, 18 handicappers just love the game. Got the G400 Driver, SFT 3,5,7 and 400 irons 5-LW. All graphite regular. Also included a Doon putter. A G400 bag was purchased from South Korea by my sister. Went to the course with no warm up and shot 83. UNBELIEVABLE. I was almost unable to erase the weakest section of my game, greens in regulation. It's hard to express how happy I am, but just wanted to let everyone know how great this product is. Pops would love these clubs. I am certainly glad to be WRONG AGAIN!

PURCHASED AT GOLF HEADQUARTERS CHESAPEAKE VA.

Yes.

This product is highly recommended by me.

It is disappointing

Ping is a brand I love since my g410 driver. Since then, I have considered getting Ping irons. The customer service is the best part about them, I have been told. G400s were finally purchased in May. However, after several rounds, the hydropearl-finish scratches started to show up. Ping responded to my inquiry by saying that the G400s look terrible. They don't really care about how it looks. We only care about its performance. Although performance is important, everyone seems to agree that it's more important than appearance. This was an extremely disappointing experience.

No,

I do not recommend this product.

G400 Verdict on Irons

G400 irons provide a great upgrade on the G model range.

The G400 has a superior sound and feel to previous Ping irons. It also performs better under all conditions.

All-in-all, the Ping G400s are a solid iron that can add plenty to your game and add a touch of distance without taking away any of the forgiveness.

Ping G400 Review – Final Verdict

The final thing to do after our Ping G400 evaluation is to leave our recommendations. The question now is: Are these irons worthwhile to buy? Our honest opinion is that they are. While you may be able to find cheaper sets, these will not improve your game as much as the Ping G400 club.

Ping G400 is a fantastic set of irons, and we don't think you'll buy golf clubs very often. These clubs are actually quite affordable considering the benefits they provide. You will love it.

Comparison of Taylormade M4 irons and Ping G400 irons

You can stop a ball with a single touch, and still get good distance. This is what irons refer to as the "holy trinity". Manufacturers used to sacrifice one product for the other for quite a long time.

However, technology is increasingly catching up to the desires and needs of today's golfer. We see more modern irons that boast to be capable on all fronts. We were curious to find out which irons we thought were worthy of our trust and which should not be included in the bag.

So we narrowed the search down to only two iron sets that looked promising. To find out which iron set delivers the best performance and value, today we will review a few sets that have stood out among the pack.

Ping G400 Irons Ping have made a name as manufacturers of top-quality game improvement tools. Ping Eye paired with their G model clubs has helped amateur golfers around the world reach their target handicaps.

Although the G400's might not be their latest product (they do offer a G700), it is one of their best iron sets, both for tour players and amateurs. Ping G400 irons are great because they can be used with batter ball flight.

Ping G400 irons are a great set to have if you don't like the way you get your ball flying high. Ping G400 is a great set for your approach game. Because of their high flight, it's easier to get your ball off the green.
