Performance
The best thing about PING irons is the ease with which they can be used. So when they claim that the G710 has the longest life and is the most flexible, it's a big deal. Due to high-density tungsten weights at the heel and the toe, the MOI is 5% lower than the G700 irons.
In my testing, I saw exactly what I expected from the G710 irons: long shots landing in a tight circle. These irons launch smoothly, provide enough spin and ball speed to stay on the green. G710 Irons can be a great alternative to distance irons which only fire knee-high rockets or knuckleballs. My landing angle was maintained even though I got a distance club.
More than any other club in the set, the 4-iron really impressed me. A low-launching player like me, long irons can be difficult for me. With the G710 4I, the ball got up into a playable window, carried a long way, and landed as softly as I can reasonably expect.
PING will offer the G710 with a boatload more shaft options than usual. The new PING Alta Distanza is their lightest (43 grams), highest launching iron shaft yet. In addition to two other proprietary PING shafts, there are options from Nippon, KBS, True Temper, UST, and Project X.
Finally, every set of PING G710 irons comes with Arccos Caddie Smart Grips. Each shot can be tracked by the sensor, which is embedded in the grips of irons. Each customer also receives one year free Arccos Caddie. Additional eight Arccos sensors are included with every order of six irons.
Ping says the G710 range of distance irons is their longest-lasting and most forgiving.
Ping's G710 irons are now standard with a 5% MOI higher than G700's. It features a machined face and grooves made of plasma-welded maraging and steel faces, as well as tungsten and hosel weights.

We know from more normal speeds that any distance advantage is unlikely to be significant. The G710 comes standard with the Arccos shot tracking devices. Ping can use these stats to help shape future club design and fittings. It's very clever.

These irons have a unique feature: the Arccos grips provide a lot of information about your game, which makes them a great choice. Frankly, feel is pretty amazing too. These irons are great if you want to improve your old set. The Ping G710 irons would be a true investment in your golf game as a game improvement iron.
