Ping G400 Driver Review

How Does The Ping G400 Compare To Prior Ping Drivers?

With the G400 the stealthy black matte finish is repeated, as well as Dragonfly Technology at the crown. However, PING's job was much more impressive than with earlier models. The G30 and PING G were too intrusive, and almost got in the way. Its sleeker, more modern design is both attractive and less distracting.

G400's tungsten tour weight remains the same as in previous PING products, with the weight being positioned closer to your heel for greater control over the draw. Unmatched control and distance power are the hallmarks of this design.

It really transformed the G400's appearance. PING ditched the black/blue colour scheme of its G Model shaft and instead created a classic ALTA CB design. The G400 has a sleek, dark copper shaft. It is definitely unique but very cool.

Comparing The Ping G400 To The Other Products

The G400 Driver stands out among other drivers in its class. G400 Driver has one problem compared with Taylor, which is the best competitor. M1 Callaway GBB Epic was made more difficult by the fact that the G400 from PING does not allow for CG adjustments. Many people are worried about not being able to modify the ball's flight beyond adjusting loft or shaft.

The G400 crowns might be a problem for some golfers. Even though they are much smaller, it is important to still look at the address.

Check out the 2018 Guide to New Drivers for a detailed review. The PING Driver G400 Driver also has one the longest stock shafts on the market. It measures 45.75" inches and is an obstacle for players who are increasingly looking for shorter drivers.

The Numbers of the Ping G400 Driver

We reviewed the Ping G400 Driver in numbers, and this is what we came up with.

15%: Ping G400 drivers have 15% less drag during downswing 295cc than G drivers. The G30-sized driver that was launched in 2014 by Ping would need to shrink to make it as aerodynamically as the G400.

20% G400's brand new titanium T9S+ face is 20% stretchier that the G. It's also 6% smaller and 9% lighter than the G.

Ping estimates that even golfers with average swing speeds will experience a ball speed improvement of 1.2 mph.

5 yards The amount of yards average swing speed players can expect to gain over the G driver, of course for G30 or G25 gains will be bigger.

13 This is the number of tour agents who played the Ping G400 drivers the week they were available for touring, it being the US Open.

Best Driver I Ever Used

Let me first apologize for my bad review. This is my Psych Moment. I received this driver in the spring of 2017 and have had 7 rounds. The club performs well in all weather conditions, including rainy, hot, and cold. Because of misses on fairway, I was fitted for the shaft model and the SFT version. The best thing I ever did was to get fit and dialed in for this driver. The Aeroburner is the only thing I tried after trying the R1, SLDR and R1. After seeing the demo I was given, I purchased the Ping G driver. Soon after my purchase, I received the G400. I wanted to see if it was worth the effort. I was fitted. I have to say, it was the best decision ever. I converted to Ping and also got the G400 SFT Driver. My fairways are hitting between 65-70% and 70% (No B.S.). I am hitting more straight shots and longer distances with an average "Total” distance of 230-260 yards. A good friend introduced me to the game 3 years ago. He lost his set at home and decided to play a round of golf with his backup clubs. Because he was without a driver, I offered my (G400 SFT), to help him. His reaction was total shock and awe. He couldn't believe he hit straighter (Baby Draws), was longer, and was more consistent on the fairways. He tells me, that as soon as he gets his Go-To Set he will trade in his Cobra driver and get fitted for a G400. He was sold after 2 drives and said he will look into more Ping products. The sale came after seeing the progress of his Jedi with new Ping G400 and i200 woods as well as with a Sigma G Anser puttingter. I almost forgot to mention, I have 3 yrs of playing the game and I play with coworkers and their friends. The average time they have been playing is about 10 years. With the G400 SFT, 2 out of 3 times, I am out driving them by 15-20 yards when on the fairway and about 5-10 yards on rough mishits. They are so competitive when I (three year old) am out driving them. Thanks to Ping, I can Play my best and feel confident that I will get better. #Play. It's your. It's the Best. Team up Ping

I Can Hit My Driver

Taylormade R1 drivers were my old driver. To save my life, I could not hit it. It was my desire to test the driver and see the effect of equipment on the problem. I knew in my heart that 95% of it was probably me. I doubted the quality of reviews posted here, thinking that they had been written or paid for by Ping. Ouch! Today was my first outing on my Ping G400 Max, and today I used my driver. Even better, I was actually in play Even in the fairway a few times. UNBELIEVABLE DIFFERENCE. I'm not great but this changed my game. This makes it more enjoyable. I love this club. You can actually use the driver from the tee. Thank you, Ping!

This product is highly recommended by me.

G400 Drivers Verdict

Ping's G400 line of drivers offers the best selection, featuring four models to suit all needs.

From the standard version to other models offering low spin or straighter flight, the G400 drivers really do cover a lot of basis when it comes to the technology each offers.

If you switch to G400s, expect to get a bit more speed and more forgiveness. They should you get more from your game and are a pretty impressive set of drivers.

What is the 2018 Ping G400 Sft Driver Rating?

Design 7 – While the better players like a smaller design, the 445cc head can pose confidence problems for those with high handicaps who are concerned about hitting the sweet spot.

Technology – Ten This club is chokeful of tech. The SFT is the preferred driver for golfers due to its Vortex Technology and Dragon Fly Technology increasing clubhead speed and MOI, as well as forged T9S+ faces translating into hotter balls. Add to this the Max Game Improvement driver's internal rib structure, and you have a winner at your clubhouse dinner.

Performance – 8 While the SFT delivers exactly what it's created to do (eliminate the slice) that's the problem with this driver. Golfers who do not slice will give no consideration to this club. This club might be the best in 2018.

Ping has 6 options for shafts. Other shaft companies may offer more choices than Ping, and many of them are free.

Price – 9 Considering Callaway and Taylor. For $49999 each driver, this is a great price. The $399 for the driver is also a bargain.

Reviews – 10 Go to Google and search Ping G400 SFT Driver and look through 5 pages. At the time, 4.9 is considered to be the lowest overall rating. That's it.

Perform on-Course

Club Speed Ball Speed Launch Angle Spin Carry (Yds) Total (Yds)

The strongest aspect of this entire review for the PING G400 Max is this section right here. It is simply the best driver I have ever seen. The yardage lost by misses in the middle of the face was minimal, while those to the left or right didn't travel nearly as far offline. My big mistake is usually a block to the left that often hits the adjacent fairway. The G400 Max made that miss into a straight block right. My ball was often in a playable spot.

G400 Max, which is the most powerful option in the G400 range, should be used for the majority. You can optimize this driver's performance with the correct shaft. For my high-ball game, the G400 Max and a low/mid spinning, low launch shaft were paired. With the G400 Max I had expected to gain some distance, but in reality I got a lot of carry yardage. For me, that equated to more total distance, and more importantly, more fairways hit from the forgiveness. It's possible to imagine that.

Can The Ping G400 Drive Be Used by Beginners?

Performance: Ping G400 offers a very forgiving driving experience that makes it possible to take the golf ball up and away. It features a huge sweet spot that produces a strong feel and sound.

Are Ping G400's Good or Bad?

It comes with all the bells, whistles, and a smaller, 445cc Clubhead. The G400 is a versatile, top-quality option that can be used by almost any player. You'll notice that the G400Ping driver line has greatly improved acoustics to produce a more satisfying sound and better feeling at impact. January 30, 2018.
