amazon delivery driver job review

I enjoyed being an amazon delivery driver. Now, though, it seems like my life is always under watch.

Amazon claims that the 270-degree, AI-powered cameras can be motion activated without recording every second.

They know what driver is up to. They can see what the driver is doing and give me a “distracted drivers” alert. Sometimes I get a ding if I look away from my van.

It’s becoming very annoying. Each “distracted motorist” notification I receive, I am being deducted points from my safety score. This management review allows me to use my scores and dock my hours. Or, fire me. Amazon says the camera was there for safety but I feel like it’s an invasion of my privacy.

Many of my DSP drivers feel the same frustration. Amazon’s routing algorithm has been changed. Multiple deliveries are now considered one single delivery, even though they are all spread across the area and often located on opposite sides of the street. It is these changes that make our jobs more difficult.

Although I thought I’d be able to drive freely as a delivery driver I found it too difficult to park my car and take in the fresh air.
