These are fractious times. The nation is divided.
We all know that presidential campaigns can drag out far too long. Bryson DeChambeau does the same when he is lining up shots.
DeChambeau was clear in his press conference defense at the Northern Trust this week, when he was mistaken more than once for a lawn sculpture, that slow play is multi-headed. The blame is not on any one player.
But as individual golfers, each of us has control of our own conduct; we can be part of the problem, or aid in the solution.
This brings us to the age-old question, “How long does it take for an average golfer 18 holes?”
But we’re not scientists. DeChambeau may not be a scientist (he plays only one of them on TV), but we have the right to look at rough numbers and find an answer.
Assume a blank golf course for a start. You and your foursome are the only ones playing on this course. It’s not important to mention the grade and slope of the course. These factors have been found to have negligible effects on players’ speed.
