Just A Great Club!

My D1 golfer daughter was just fitted for the G425 LST. Although she played well on the TM SIM Max using the Venus Velocore shaft, her shots were often off to the left. With the Ping fitted, her spin was between 2500-2600. Her average speed of 5-6 MPH. Also, squaring up the face was so easy compared to the TM, which definitely sets up open at address. The rear weight port was placed on the heel side and changed from a 17g to a 14g. The new driver for her was created after the Fuji shaft was inserted back into the Ping Head. It was a spectacular course. With well shot shots, the average gained about 10-15 extra yards than with the TM. The misses she makes tend to be on her heels. Those shots were definitely less traveled, but they still left the fairway. We tried the G425 Max also, but it spun a tad too much. Also tried the Calloway LS Max but her numbers were best with the Ping and she loved the feel of the ball off the face. The TM was more responsive than the Ping. Cheers.

Yes.

I highly recommend this product.

Performance

The PING G425 LST driver delivers on its namesake feature. The G425 LST driver and G425 Max had a decrease of 200 RPM. Your mileage will vary so get in shape before buying.

PING LST drivers are very forgiving, stable, and responsive despite the fact that they spin lower. This is something I have always loved about them. While there is small trade off in forgiveness, you don't need to be a plus handicap to game the G425 LST. Even though the shot was hit off my heel, it had a respectable distance and the ball did not fly off the earth. Similar to its predecessor the G425 LST boasts a remarkable forgiveness-to-looks ratio.

G425 LST has the same considerable adjustability that the G425 max. Loft can be adjusted up or down as much as 1.5 degrees. Do not neglect the Flat position. This is great for people who pull or hook their tee shots. You can also find a weight at the back that has three positions: Fade (Neutral), or Draw. While the LST is less than the Max (17 gram vs. 26, grams), the impact was still quite significant.

PING, like the G425 Max offers an extensive range of stock shafts with the G425LST driver. There are 3 models to choose from: Alta Distanza (PING Tour), ALTA CB55Slate (PING Tour), and PING Tour. PING offers two hot models for players who want a high-end shaft: the Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI (review HERE) and the Mitsubishi TENSEI Av Orange (55.5 and 65 grams).

The Test

I went to Ping in October to get fitted for the shaft length and type which best suited me in the driver. The G425 was closed to me at that time, but I did test the G410 heads. It was my preference to have the LST 9-degree shaft with the Ping Tour 65 shaft. When I was given the G425 Driver, it was the LST model. I had to use the same shaft. This gave me the best club for me and allowed me to give an honest evaluation.

I compared the driver with the G410 LST inside LSH Auto, Mercedes Benz Stockport, using Trackman 4 as well as Titleist ProV1x golf balls. I then visited Reddish Vale Golf Club to test it out during a few different rounds to see whether it was worthy of a spot in my bag.

Adjustability

Many of these models' adjustability has already been covered in the previous section. However, I wanted to refer to the hosel adjustability Ping called "Trajectory Tuning2.0".

As with most major manufacturers, it is possible to adjust the head loft by removing the head and repositioning it into a different setting on the hosel. The movement can be adjusted up to 1.5° higher or lower with Ping.

Ping is very unique in that you can choose from neutral, +1, or -1 loft. This benefit isn't just for shorter golfers as I am, but also for those who wish to optimize launch conditions and spin loft.

Because the Sure. Titleist has a flat, and indeed upright, fit hosel adjustability. But these settings also adjust loft and angle automatically.

The Golf Insider Verdict: Ping G425 driver reviews I could go on about the quality of this new Ping G425 range Drivers. The truth is that the verdict is quite straightforward. It is the perfect driver for any golfer, and it comes at a very affordable price.

Ping G425 Max is a great driver that offers exceptional distance and forgiveness. SFT drivers will be a great help for golfers struggling with the slice.

Next time you are looking to upgrade, I highly recommend giving the Ping G425 drivers a try.

Important Disclaimer

Our experience has shown that low spin drivers are best for fast swingers.

Keep in mind, however that natural golfers with positive angles of attack have lower spin rates. To determine if you require a low-spin head or not, a professional fitting by a clubfitter is necessary. To make an informed decision on whether or not the Ping G425LST driver is right for you, it's important to know your launch angles and spin rates.

Did that make sense? I'm going to say it again.

If you're not sure if you are hitting too many spin drives, you won't be able to tell if you require a low-spin driver such as the Ping G425LST. To do that, I recommend you find a local club fitter that has great reviews among golfers in your area.

Okay, let's get to the Ping G425LST Driver Overall Performance and Appearance. Ping's drivers have a reputation for being top-notch. G400 and G410 have proven to be outstanding as all-around drivers. And the G425 is no exception. You can save money by choosing an older model, even though they look almost the same.

The look of the Ping G425 LST driver , at address, is just like the other models, but a tad bit more compact. LST's head is 445cc, while SFT and MAX have a 460cc. It's common for low-spin driver heads to be a tad more compact that others.

I think the club head looks bigger because of the popular dragon-fly design that is on the all-black crown. It's great for extra forgiveness as you stand over the golf ball from the tee box.

The CG shifter is the standout tech piece this year. This enormous, moveable weight of tungsten is located at the extrem rear of club sole. The result is an equally extreme low/back CG (centre gravitation).

How to Learn About The Ping G425 Drivers

Ping G425 are the latest addition to its G-series. Ping G's 2016 debut was the beginning of it all. Ping's 2016 Ping G driver was the catalyst. Year after year, Ping refined and tuned their clubs' performances while still keeping an underlying premise. It offers power, distance, but also a lot of forgiveness.

We all need forgiveness on a long par five with the 'big stick' in our hand. It's an established fact.

You'll find one or two things a little different in this year's drivers. Notice that I didn't say "a lot different". Ping has demonstrated a fair degree of restraint against the tendency for the golf world to add buzzwords and gimmicks.

Now, let's suppose you have ever played with Ping Drivers in any capacity over the past five years. This will allow you to see some of the familiar aspects, along with some minor improvements, that should make Ping drivers a firm favourite in the next golf season.

The Ping G425MAX is the first driver I will be focusing on. It promises to be a great all-rounder. From there, we'll go to the slightly more specific LST and SFT drivers, discuss the differences and who each club would be best suited to.

Let's get to it… G425 max driver review The Ping G425 basic version of this trio-driver system is called the 'vanilla" version.

You can't. "Vanilla" doesn't really do this club justice. The club is full of great features.

What is The Ping G425 Really Like?

G425 LST shares a similar ratio of forgiveness and looks to its predecessor. G425LST has the same considerable adjustability as G425Max. May 3, 2021

Are Ping G425 drivers any good?

Verdict. Ping G425 Max driver Ping is the only brand to produce the most flexible drivers in the game. This has been achieved over a 14-year period.

What does Lst mean on Ping Driver

G400 LST (Low spin) is a custom-engineered model with tungsten weighting nearer to the face. This reduces spin around 300 rpm, and encourages low spin with forgiveness.

Can The Ping G425 Senior Driver Be Used?

Ping offers three options for the new G425 driver: LST, SFT and Max. Senior golfers are known to slice the ball. To increase draw bias the SFT Ping G425 driver comes in three heads – the Max, LST and SFT.
