Performance

Let’s move on to the main question. Did PING retain the G410 Plus’ adjustability while increasing the forgiveness? Yes. G425 Max fulfills that promise well.

G425 MAX pING

G425 MAX elevates the moment of inertia to PING’s highest level in history. Forgiveness comes mainly from a 26-gram tungsten movable weight, made possible by weight savings from advancements in the driver’s dragonfly crown technology.

My G410 Plus was compared to the G425 Max, and the G425 Max proved more forgiving. With the G425 Max driver, mishits were always a bit faster and had more reliable launch numbers. On the course, that means there’s less distance between your best swings and all the rest. The G425 Max is the best-forgiving driver on the market. To ensure maximum consistency on the green, I recommend the G425Max driver.

It is remarkable that the G425 Max can achieve this increased forgiveness without sacrificing adjustability. This adapter is identical to the last one so that all eight shafts can be used. Loft can also be adjusted upwards or downwards by up to 1.5 degrees. There are 3 positions for 26g of back weight: neutral, draw, and fade. Each position affects the ball flight, as well the position and size of the sweet spot.

PING is one of the world’s leading providers of custom fitting. You can choose from three exclusive models: the ALTA CB55Slate, PING Tour or Alta Distanza. PING offers two hot models for players who want a high-end shaft: the Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI (review HERE) and the Mitsubishi TENSEI Av Orange (55.5 and 65 grams).

Adjustability

Many of these models’ adjustability has already been covered in the previous section. However, I wanted to refer to the hosel adjustability Ping called “Trajectory Tuning2.0”.

As with most major manufacturers, it is possible to adjust the head loft by removing the head and repositioning it into a different setting on the hosel. The movement can be adjusted up to 1.5° higher or lower with Ping.

Ping is very unique in that you can choose from neutral, +1, or -1 loft. It is not only beneficial for me and short-sighted golfers, but it can also be used by those who want to narrow out their approach angle to improve spin loft, launch conditions, or reduce spin loft.

I say almost because the Sure. Titleist offers flat- and even upright fitting hosel adjustments. These settings can be adjusted to automatically alter the loft, face angle, or both.

Golf Insider Verdict – Ping G425 driver review I could go on for some time about how good the new range Ping G425 Drivers in this review. Actually, it’s quite easy to say that the verdict. This driver is a great value for money, with excellent performance and fitting options.

The Ping G425 Max offers good distance and exceptional levels of forgiveness. SFT drivers are a wonderful option for those who have trouble with their slice.

What exactly do I mean by that?

It’s likely that there won’t be any wholesale changes when PING releases new drivers.

PING is in the business of producing some of the best drivers in the business and it isn’t about to attempt to reinvent the wheel.

With the G425 line-up, the brand has decided to once again stick to its tried and tested engineering practices by effectively building upon the same brilliant designs and technologies that brought its previous G400 and G410 families such universal acclaim.

The CG shifter is by far the best piece of tech. This large, lightweight, and mobile tungsten mass is placed in the very rear part of the club.

Test Drivers of Ping Golf G425: Speed and Forgiveness for All Golfers

Every golfer can find something in the PING G425 driver line. All it starts with the Max model, which takes moment of inertia and creates PING’s most forgiveness driver. You will also find two other signature models within the G425 series. PING has created an LST (Low Spin Technology Version) to decrease spin and improve distance. There is also an SFT(Straight Flight Technology Model) for players who have more draw bias. TGW’s exclusive review details the latest technology.

Is The Ping G425 Max A Good Driver?

Yes. Yes. The G425 Max lives up to that promise. In testing the G425 Max head to head with my G410 Plus, the most obvious difference was the superior forgiveness of the G425 Max. G425 Max was consistently faster and had better launch numbers.

How Forgiving is the Ping G425 Max?

PING G425 LT Driver. Details: Ping claims that it has combined the tech of previous releases. This driver is the G425 MAX.

Do Any Pros Use Ping G425?

Louis Oosthuizen. It might seem that all tour pros use stiff, X-flex shafts. However, Louis Oosthuizen is not one of those. The South African currently has a Ping Altra CB Slate stiff shaft in his G425 driver, Ping’s stock model and the same shaft that many regular club golfers will be using this year.

How open-minded is The Ping G425

Verdict. G425 Max has a great forgiveness rate. I prefer the G410’s classic black and silver colour combination. The LST head will suit players that aren’t necessary big hitters so make sure you try them both.
