Ping G400 was the most sought-after driver on the market in 2008. Ping released this driver: The Ping G410 Plus. It combines both the forgiving nature you have come to expect from Ping and all of that adjustability expected in high-performing drivers.

Bubba Watson is already enjoying the G410 Plus driver. His accuracy from the tee shot has improved dramatically since placing it in his bag. GolfMagic HQ saw the G410 Plus driver and it immediately made us swoon. There were many great things we had read about this driver.

G410 Plus is the first driver to feature a removable 16g tungsten weight at the head. Adjusting the weight setting to draw or fade will change the shot shape. This can alter the distance by 10 yards. Because PING drivers have a reputation for being very forgiving, they decided that the weight could be adjusted to adjust it. The weight of the PING G410 Plus has been moved to the rear clubhead in order to maintain a high MOI. You still receive all the forgiveness that comes with a PING drievr. It can feel overwhelming to make a decision between the many options available.

Today, I want to share some insight into what manufacturers do to help their clubs be as successful and profitable as possible.

This is where you’ll learn everything there is about drivers.

What does it entail for a club “forgiving?”

To maximize your performance, where should you place the weight?

What causes a golf ball to lose energy when it comes into contact with the club face?

All right, so today we’re going to do a review of the Ping G410 Plus driver. We’re not just going to give you a typical review. The review will not be about whether it feels good or looks good. It will simply reflect my subjective opinion.

We are going to dive into the science of the club head, and discuss the actual technology that made this the technologically most advanced driver available.

It’s unlikely that you’ll find any driver who’s more fiery, forgiving or better than this driver. It’s going to be about all the science and engineering that go into this, which makes it the case.

So, let’s die right into it. My task was to interview some engineers from Ping. I really like these clubs.

Price: $500 / Bought Now Lofts. 9.5@, 10.5@, 12@. A 455cc, multimaterial structure features a heat-treated T9S+ face. This is to enhance face deflection. A creased crown design stiffens structure to enhance efficiency of the head.

ClubTester’s (16-hdcp), take: “Penetrating flight and great distance without swinging too hard.”

Robot’s view: Perform well in mid-speed games, both in accuracy and carrying. You can also forgive heels.

Bottom Line

Ping is known for its quality and high performance. However, Ping also emphasizes engineering and forgiveness. The shaft I received was much shorter than the one that I had used before, so it was a few swings until my distance from the ball was comfortable. The true power of the club was evident once I felt my distance.

You can feel the tramponline effect when the club is hit in the middle of the clubface. It’s possible to actually feel the ball come off the club. What was most impressive was not the well struck balls, it was the “mishits” that really sold me on this club. Even when I missed a lot of balls, my dispersion was good and had lots of carry.

When I started hitting this club using a golf launch monitor , it was evident that my sidespin was much lower than my original driver. You can expect a more severe miss if you put more spin on your side. You can miss your shot but still get in the fairway with this club. Importantly, misses could keep you out the woods or the penalty areas. This will not eliminate these issues but I was able to see a significant improvement in my driving precision in the few weeks after my purchase.

Ping G410 Plus men’s driver has provided me with the biggest advantage: I am able to eliminate the right side. My missed shots were always to either the left or right side of this course. Before, however, you could hit it any place from the teebox. The driver assisted me in lowering the weight from the Fade to ensure that it would reach the Fade position. Although it took some time, you will find that being confident when you have a driver at your side is an important part of your game. This arrangement may appear strange but I have found it to be very effective for my game.

It seems to also hold its own against competitors. Ideally, the weight of the slider seems to improve shot bias without affecting forgiveness.

The driver launched in 2019 but is still an excellent driver for the Ping Golf line-up. We hope you enjoyed this review. Keep checking our site often to see the most recent updates regarding the latest products, training aids, gadgets and golf equipment.
