Performance

I was able to test the SIM MAX driver head to head with the SIM at the same loft with the same shaft. This allowed me to see the differences between the two models quite clearly. The highest launch stood out for me. Although the SIM MAX launched with a low launch, the SIM MAX did so in my normal window. Similar to the SIM, the SIM MAX has mid spin and the SIM MAX has low spin.

Forgiveness was an area where the SIM MAX lacked. On average, the SIM MAX gave me slightly better ball speed and better accuracy. My bad swings were more successful with the SIM MAX, according to my subjective assessment.

Progressive Face Heights is a new feature for the SIM driver group. TaylorMade analyzed the effects of impact points and handicaps to create the SIM drivers that have the right-sized faces. The SIM driver is the smallest, meant for the best players. SIM Max D faces are 18% wider than SIM Max D, but the SIM Max Max’s face is 8% bigger. This is why players must consider the visual preference of their drivers when choosing between these two clubs.

My answer to your question about whether or not the SIM MAX offers a major upgrade on last year’s Model 6 is NO (M6 Driver Review HERE). The drivers were both excellent – they are friendly and forgiving, but I don’t see anything in the SIM to make it an essential upgrade for gamers who use the M6.

Taylormade Sim Max Driver Reviews – Cutting Edge Forgiveness

Paul Club Reviews Golf Product Review No Comments Here is our full TaylorMade SIM Max review.

SIM Max uses the same innovative technologies used in the SIM Family of Drivers, such as Inertia Generator (asymmetric sole) and Inertia Generator (inertia generator). But with a larger club face and deeper center of gravity, it delivers more MOI and forgiveness and is aimed at higher handicaps.

Just how much more forgiving is the SIM Max than the SIM? Compare it to the M6. Do you think it’s worth having in your bag?

This is what I will be reviewing in my review:

Taylormade Sim Driver Verdict

I wouldn’t have thought that the SIM would make the best model, but it was a great choice. The spin sometimes dropped too much for my lower swing speed.

What impressed me most about the SIM Max was not being able to capture one. My distance didn’t drop because I did not get a high spinning shot (more than 3000 rpm).

I never expected the middle driver of this range to perform so well without having to alter settings to lower spin. The Inertia Generic at the back was certainly a bonus and helped with the ball’s flight, without having to change spin settings.

The Inertia Generator’s angle and shape made it difficult for me to see an increase in swing velocity. My 20-degree angle with the Inertia Generator is not convincing. You may see it in TaylorMade laboratories or at a club where DJ is playing the music “in the groove”, but I don’t think it has the same effect on everyone.

Why this club is the best

This club was on sale at the right time and Taylormade is a great brand. I bought it. I already had their wedges in my bag and I was super pleased, so I hoped that the driver would follow suit!

The Callaway Mavrik was something I thought about buying, but I ultimately decided on the SIM Max because it had a lower price and positive online reviews. The Mavrik was not as far as I expected, which I didn’t like as I was a teenager. I wanted something to satisfy my hunger for long distance.

Verdict

It’s true that SIM does not have the same powerful name as M-Series. However, the SIM driver aesthetics make up for this.

The SIM Family’s new design is absolutely amazing. And, like we stated in the video review: it grows on your body as you use and use it.

At address, it’s our favourite driver by an absolute mile. This contrasts well with the carbon crown. The bright white top line is beautiful and makes a great impression.

TaylorMade drivers have a great experience, both from a performance and a design perspective.

I found the Inertia Generator to be slightly more efficient in my club, and both SIM Max (and SIM Max) produced promising results.

SIM driver had a low-spin driver that created a powerful ball flight. SIM Max, on the other hand, gave me slightly more spin and a better ball flight.

SIM Max offered more forgiveness, but was my preferred driver because it maintained the distance of an old stick.

Cons:

No major improvements over other models

Not too much adjustment

Released in 2020, the SIM and SIM Max drivers are the next step on the path forged by the M drivers of previous years. The speed injected twist face technology remains, as does the MOI sole weight – only it’s been implemented slightly differently this time. This review will be focusing on the SIM Max. However, the SIM Max has a slightly smaller face and offers more adjustment.

Naturally, the first thing we noticed about this driver was its great looks. The bottom of the head has been cleaned up a bit since its predecessor, and the dark, metallic colors come together to form a sharp, aesthetically pleasing design.

TaylorMade claim this driver has more forgiveness than any other and have also optimized their sole weight in order to improve the MOI. According to the idea, the swing should be aerodynamically more efficient and therefore faster. Also, the launch conditions for this model are slightly different to previous ones.

TaylorMade felt very satisfied with the results of the M drivers. Therefore, no major changes to the speed injected technology have been made. It rockets from the head, as we have come to expect. The special design was created to aid you when the ball hits parts of your face that cause problems. It is also very sounding.

There’s no denying that TaylorMade has been able to increase ball speeds over the years, but it’s likely that they are now facing the problem of diminishing returns. It is an amazing driver. The sole weight change seems to make a difference. Most players will not feel any performance improvements.

Final Thoughts

TaylorMade is a pioneer in golf club technology. The SIM Max, with its intelligent MOI weight, tried and true speed injected face, and sharp aesthetic, is a superb driver. This club is a great choice for those who are at the top of their game and think that they could benefit from a little more MOI or clubhead speed.

The fun can be enjoyed by those with higher handicaps. Although the clubface is optimized for speed it has been designed to be forgiving. The carefully placed CG can help you get just the right amount.

It’s unlikely that you will see any major changes if your current TaylorMade SIM Max or TaylorMade MC5 is used.

TaylorMade SIM driver – FIRST LOOKING!

TaylorMade needed to modify the shape of all its drivers in order to achieve this.

Improvements in aerodynamics are one of the most important stories. SIM is actually short for Shape In Motion.

Inertia Generator located on the sole stores a lot of weight down and to the back in your clubhead making it extremely forgiving. It also makes it easier to launch. TaylorMade decided to change this feature in order to decrease drag and improve clubhead speed.

So you can expect great all-round performance with these drivers, but even before you have a single hit you will fall in love.
